FEBRUARY 15TH, 2021
Kia ora koutou e nga whanau o Te Kura o te Pāroa,
Like me, I am sure you have been following the announcements made by the Prime Minister.
It is reassuring to know how well Aotearoa has done in the past to manage with covid-19.
The good news is that at level 2 Te Kura o te Paroa will continue to be open as usual.
The Prime Minister advised that in Alert Level 2, schools are safe environments for children and staff.
The key Public Health approach is to minimise the risk that someone gets infected in the first place, and second to ensure we can identify and contact anyone who has been in close contact with a person, if someone in a school is infected.
In Alert Level 2 we need to know who is at school, who our staff and students have been in close contact with and take appropriate measures to keep everyone safe.
With this in mind we will be asking Parents to come to the office and not to go straight to classrooms.
Mass gathering rules will apply - no assembly or powhiri at level 2 as we will not be able to maintain physical distance.
Because Physical distancing is challenging in schools, good hygiene practices and regular cleaning are even more important now. This includes staff and students coughing into their elbows, handwashing and drying and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.
Under Alert Level 2, any students and staff need to stay at home if they are sick, and we will send anyone home immediately if they show any symptoms.
If you have been in Auckland over the weekend please go to be tested and remain at home until you have your results.
The Prime minister’s announcement on the 17th February 2021 will let us know what will happen next.
Following this announcement more information will be posted on FB, class dojo and skool loop on 17th February after 7am.
